The American Petroleum Institute (API) granted Optimarket exclusive rights in 1995 for all Russian translations of API specifications and designs for Sucker Rod Pumping Units in the former Soviet Union (API Specification 11E). These specifications form the basis of all API certifications for sucker rod pumping units in the world. Optimarket has also contracted with American Pump for exclusive rights in Russia and all CIS countries to all American Pump engineering and designs for all models of sucker rod pumping units.
Advanced western gear making equipment at Potek (Krasnoyarsk, Russia) and other factories in the CIS will utilize these designs and specification to produce pumping units instead of T-72 Tanks. Currently over 75% of Russian crude oil is pumped with equipment that is not API certified and which often fails. The new Russian built API certified pumps could begin to substantially increase Russian crude oil production without additional exploration or rework to bringing wells back on line that have been shut for lack of reliable pumping units. The Russian American Pump project is one of only 7 Russian-American Projects jointly designated by the U.S. and Russian governments as Priority Pioneer.
